OJWC Valancee Avalos Memorial Scholarship

The OJWC Valancee Avalos Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of our late friend and fellow club member, Valancee Avalos. Throughout her life and up until her death, Valancee was an example of compassion, empathy, and generosity. An eternal optimist, Valancee always looked for the silver lining and was first to point out the positive in every situation. Nominations for this special scholarship must include a thoughtful and compelling case for why the nominee displays these same qualities in his or her daily life.

All scholarships are presented on Senior Awards Night. The number of scholarships and amounts of each are determined based on funds availability. To help support the OJWC Scholarship Fund, be sure to attend our annual Red Carpet Party, the club’s signature and largest fundraiser.
